About

Medicine that reads the patient, from a lineage that kept the receipts.

Rootworth is the telehealth herbal practice of Michael Woodworth, L.Ac. — built on classical Chinese medicine and the clinic that stands behind it, Makari Wellness.

The practitioner

Trained in the classical source, not the simplified copy.

Michael Woodworth is a licensed acupuncturist and classical herbalist with more than twenty years of clinical practice. Trained under many lineage teachers, his practice centers on the teachings of Arnaud Versluys within the ICEAM lineage of Dr. Tian — rooted in the Shang Han Lun and Jin Gui Yao Lue — the classical canon that treats the body as an interacting system of organ networks rather than a list of separate complaints.

That framework is the whole difference. Modern simplified TCM often reaches for a fixed formula per disease label. The classical method reads the living pattern first — phase, layer, syndrome — and composes the formula to fit the person. It is more demanding, and it is the reason a precise strike is possible at all.

Why Rootworth

A practice, and a refusal.

The clinic behind Rootworth has spent two decades reading patients the modern system has too little time for. Rootworth carries that work beyond the clinic walls — custom classical formulas by telehealth — and carries a refusal with it: that medicine should read the person, not run the script.

Real medicine has roots. The heart has a voice. Rootworth is where both are put to work.
